Hispanic Heritage Month

At Hoosier College and Career Academy (HCCA), we are committed to preparing students for bright futures through career and technical education (CTE) while celebrating the diversity that makes our community stronger. As part of this mission, we proudly observe Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, honoring the rich cultural contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans and showcasing how embracing diversity enhances career success and leadership development.

The Significance of Hispanic Heritage Month

 Hispanic Heritage Month was first recognized in 1968 and expanded to a full month in 1988. It coincides with the independence anniversaries of several Latin American countries, including Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Chile. At HCCA, we believe this observance is more than a celebration—it’s an opportunity to inspire our students through diverse perspectives, cultural awareness, and leadership examples.

Celebrating in a career and technical education environment provides students with the tools to:

  • Gain a global perspective that enhances their employability in an increasingly diverse workforce.
