HCCA Offers Remote Work-Based Learning Opportunities Through New Partnership

Stories & Spotlights

We’re thrilled to announce Hoosier College and Career Academy (HCCA) is partnering with 220 Youth Leadership to offer remote, work-based learning opportunities for students while allowing them to continue their fully virtual education.

Through this partnership, HCAA is expanding on career-readiness course offerings and opportunities for students to build entrepreneurial skills, prepare for the workforce, and add internships to resumes. Beginning this spring, sophomores will have the opportunity to participate in simulated internships and courses to align with new statewide diploma requirements focused on work-based learning opportunities and employability skills.

Among high school students who have previously participated in 220 Youth Leadership’s programming, 95% felt better prepared to accomplish their professional goals.

“Our HCCA team takes pride in instilling confidence in our students for their next steps after graduation,” HCCA Executive Director David Rarick said. “By partnering with 220 Youth Leadership, we are preparing students with remote work experience and skill development to help them jump-start their college and career goals.”

All HCCA sophomores will take part in the 220 Youth Leadership program beginning in the upcoming school year. Students will have access to weekly coaching with industry professionals and monthly industry spotlight sessions with leaders from Indiana and beyond in industries such as:

  • Technology;
  • Business;
  • Social services;
  • Creative fields;
  • And more.

The simulated internship will also allow students to engage in structured remote work experiences as they rotate across departments, complete guided projects based on real scenarios, receive supervisor feedback, and build employability skills.

If your student is interested in remote work-based learning experiences to meet Indiana’s new graduation requirements while maintaining a fully virtual education, learn more about enrollment options at HCCA.
