What Students and Learning Coaches Need to Know for the 2026-2027 School Year at HCCA
Ahead of the 2026-2027 Hoosier College and Career Academy school year, expectations for students and Learning Coaches have improved to promote academic success. Read below for important updates on attendance policy, testing requirements, and more.
Student Expectations
Whilst online coursework offers flexibility, there is an expectation that students are actively participating in their courses. It is required that HCCA students log in to engage with their classes on a daily basis.
The amount of time estimated for students to participate with their courses is based on grade levels:
- 7th-8th grade: students will spend approximately 5.5 hours per day (28 hours per week)
- 9th -10th grade: students will spend approximately 6-7 hours per day (30-35 hours per week)
It is mandatory that students attend their scheduled Class Connect sessions with their teachers. And, during state testing periods, it is required that students participate in-person for their exams.
Learning Coach Expectations
Learning coaches are essential in providing motivation and guidance for their students. LCs are responsible for making sure their students are attending our live classes and staying on top of their assignments. Additionally, Learning Coaches are tasked with reporting the attendance of their students on a daily basis.
Maintaining consistent communication with teachers and staff is crucial in ensuring that their students are on the right track. Our dedicated team is available to support you!
